Build a Bilingual School in Nicaragua

Dear Friends & Family of Escuela Adelante,

We exist to build a bridge between the local and ex-pat communities, and education is our medium to connect families of all backgrounds. What makes our students stand out is their diversity. Not just across linguistic and cultural lines, but socioeconomic diversity. We ensure that all students can study with us and receive the same outstanding bilingual education that characterizes us. No one should be held back! Our teachers and staff are equally committed to this cause, and as a result, we have served thousands of students since 2016 in San Juan del Sur. After growing grade by grade starting with preschool, next year we will launch high school. We are so excited! This is a big milestone most importantly for our students who are graduating from primary school. It is their opportunity to continue to study with us as they transition into secondary school.

But, we need your help to build MORE classrooms! We need 2 more classrooms for 2024 to teach all of our students. GlobalGiving allows us a voice to speak with you and reach out on a personal level to provide these updated project reports and fundraise throughout the year for the growth of our bilingual school. Next up is July Bonus Day on July 12 where the higher the donation, the higher the match! All donations over $100 will be matched and new recurring donors can receive a one-time 100% match! Thanks to fundraisers and donors we are motivated to push forward, even through adversities that we have faced. In 2018 we had a lot of sociopolitical turmoil in Nicaragua and of course, in 2020 we faced a global pandemic. Nonetheless, our supporters stood by us, so we stood by our students.

As Executive Director of Escuela Adelante, I give a lot of thought to our student school life, especially now as a mother. I am humbled to state that we make a positive difference in students' lives. The school is their second home and we are their second family. These children are fortunate to study in a safe, diverse, and welcoming school environment. Every day they learn and they have fun alongside their peers and teachers. They play, interact and study outside, in nature.

We plan to continue to grow Escuela Adelante, and we hope that our students continue to reap the benefits. Whether they decide to be doctors, lawyers, teachers, or something else -- we hope that most of all, they are good people and that they are happy.
