We are getting there together! One Girl at a time.

By Alice Aluoch | Founder

Dear Friend,

We wanted to check in and let you know what we have been up to!

On May 18th we will be launching the first group of 5 girls in our mentorship incubator. The mentorship program is founded on the belief that every girl harbors the potential to become a leader of change within her community. Through an interactive curriculum that runs throughout the year we will equip, empower and educate at-risk adolescent girls to build leadership skills like self-reflection, critical thinking, sound decision making, goal setting, clear communication and personal accountability. These girls have been carefully selected on the basis of academic performance, family economic background and leadership potential.By the end of 2017 this program will have been replicated in the 10 schools we work in.

Beauty& Brains Scholarship Fund
January 2017 we kickstarted the Beauty&Brains scholarship fund for bright but underpriviledged girls in our sanitary pads program. This scholarship embodies the notion that when a girl sets her mind to something, she is unstoppable. Impact begins with education. Our first recipient Irene joined our program in 2014 as a tiny shy girl.In 2016 she was the top student in her school and the entire division securing a position in one of top provincial secondary schools in Kenya.Raised by her aging Grandfather her dream to complete her education was impossible.Mfariji Africa took a leap of faith on her and awarded her a scholarship to cover her first year school fees.Irene just finished her first semester and will be back to school in May for her second semester! More exciting she has joined our lead group of peer mentors and will be mentoring the girls clubs during school holidays. We totally love that she is paying it forward already!

No act of Kindness no matter how small  is ever wasted. Because of donors like you we exist and make it possible for Girls to fight for their dreams.

Thank you!
