Great news! Our renovation project is approaching its final stage!
This project was inspired by the poor condition of the school during our first visit; leaking roofs, broken walls, no sanitary facilities and classroom furniture. It was disheartening to see how the children sat on the bare ground to be tutored and also got soaked when it rained.
In July, we began the project; moulding and fixing new blocks, repairing broken walls, and installing new roofs. We have also painted the building, furnished the interior of the classrooms with pop ceilings and floor tiles as shown in the pictures below.
We are working towards equipping the classrooms with teaching and learning facilities such as; desks, tables, white market boards. Our initial target was to complete the project by September so that pupils can resume the next session in a favourable learning environment. But we couldn’t meet up with to the time due to a lack of sufficient funds. We believe that by December, the classrooms would be ready for the pupils to receive tuition. This will make learning more attractive for the pupils while the teachers will also be motivated to teach better.
Our goal is to develop this school to a modern standard. Therefore, the next phase of the project will be equipping the school with digital, water and sanitary facilities; as well as, a library and solar power.
Thank you for promoting access to quality education for vulnerable children. We have come this far with your support.
