Fountain of Hope is a Non-Governmental Organisation that works with children working and living on the streets and also works with orphaned and vulnerable children.
As FOHA we have a centre were we provide shelter, clothing, education, health services, feeding and sports and recreation to children working and living on the streets and the most vulnerable (OVCs).
The project (An Education for over 400 children in Zambia) is an ongoing project which is helping the most vulnerable in our country Zambia. Children who access the services do not pay anything since they come from poor backgrounds. This has attracted a lot of children. We still have challenges with school materials since the number of children increases every term.
Under this project, we received funds through Global Giving; about $2,000 was received after Bank charges.
When the money was given, it was spent towards: Buying of school requirements for school going children, uniforms, shoes, chalks, teaching materials for teachers’ pencils, pens, books, etc. The money was also used for paying for school fees for children who are in higher grades but live at our facility. The funding received was also used to pay teachers’ salaries.
We are unable to give a detailed breakdown of how the money was spent because the person who was spear heading the project never gave an official handover and he is no longer with fountain of Hope Association.
As FOHA we are delighted be part of Global Giving and from now on wards detailed reports will be submitted.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
