Our Teacher: Ms.Pramila

Ms. Pramila is our local teacher who takes lectures from Monday to Saturday - 2 to 4 PM.

Pramila was appointed on this particular position because she had the correct enthusiasm and perfect zeal for making a difference. Due to some family reasons, Pramila was not able to continue her education when she was very much willing to do so. To not let that happen to other village children, she has joined us to help these children with studies and overall development. She is practically the mother of these children as she wilfully takes care of them, and we think, our children understand this as everybody calls her Tai (Hindi: Didi).

Further to refine her teaching skills and other skills, we are helping her out by conducting special training sessions for her.

Progress Report:

Every day, we start our session with God’s blessings and prayers. After that, the lectures start, and we end the day with various sports activities, both indoor and outdoor.

As far as academics is concerned, from Monday to Saturday every week, 2 to 3 hour long educational and sports/extracurricular sessions are held for Chafyacha Pada children. We involve volunteers to help us in specific fields such as Ms. Neha helps us with dance workshop and Mr. Amit assists us with sports tournament.

We, additionally, have a tie-up with Thakur Engineering College for NSS – Volunteer Support Program. In this initiative, the students of the college or future engineering graduates visit our center on Saturday to conduct different sessions. These sessions include extracurricular activities, educational subjects, personal development sessions, etc.

With this, we regularly meet parents for counselling sessions at children’s home. This is to ensure and encourage parents to send their children to school and update them on the achievements of children. We have nurtured this center like our own family, so we celebrate every occasion and festival with the children.

We analyzed the overall progress of children in past 9 months and the results revealed increased confidence level and better overall personality as compared to when they first came here.

Along with studies and extracurricular activities, we regularly organize competitions and tournaments in the village to encourage them. These competitions include drawing competition, mehndi competition, sports tournament, etc.

To our immense pleasure, 31 out of 36 children of our SAMPARC Mumbai Community Education Center have successfully passed their final examination. This says a lot about how much these children have learned.
