This Thanksgiving Bertrand is Thankful for You!

They're thankful for you this Thanksgiving!
They're thankful for you this Thanksgiving!

As families across the US celebrate Thanksgiving, we wanted to write you and let you know that, this Thanksgiving, twelve students in Port au Prince are thankful for you.

One of those survivors is Bertrand. After the earthquake destroyed his house and, with it, his family’s livelihood, Bertrand moved to a displaced persons camp with his brother. He left school in 2010 and didn’t return to school until we launched our scholarship programme in 2013.

Returning to school was difficult for Bertrand. He was a long way behind his classmates, and he found himself discouraged. But thanks to supporters like you, we had the funds to give him a little extra tutoring. At the end of the 2013 school year, Betrand passed his exams – as did all the children in our scholarship programme.

Betrand is one of hundreds of people who are looking forward to the holidays this year because you chose to help them build a brighter future. With your support, we’ll keep changing their lives in 2014.

Thanks so much and we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
