Warm greetings to all the well-wishers of Adharshila. We’d like to share some great news with you. We have expanded our Satellite Resource Centre (SRC) network by adding two new SRCs in two tribal villages. These SRCs will cater to nearly 100 primary school kids.
Like most children in her village, Gudiya was enrolled in the Government Primary School in her village. Classes were irregular, learning was not fun, and she was reluctant to even show up at the school gate. Today, however, Gudiya is a regular student. “Adharshila teachers visit the village regularly, interact with parents and spend time with the students. We support their effort and would send Gudiya to school on regular basis” said her parents.
Regular interaction by the teachers becomes a medium of assurance for the parents, who then feel more determined to ensure regular attendance of their child. “Teachers visited us and discussed about Aadesh’s irregular attendance…We’ll definitely make sure that he becomes a regular student” said the parents of Aadesh, a student of our second SRC in village Dangpura.
The two villages were selected after repeated meetings with villagers during the shortlisting phase. Villagers turned up in large numbers and appreciated the intervention that SRCs are making in the surrounding villages. They lent full support in setting up and proper functioning of the SRC. Opening of SRC in their own village has given them high hope of seeing their children getting quality education.

We also want to share the spectacular achievement of one of our Class 12 students, Nalsingh has been honoured by the Madhya Pradesh state government for scoring distinction in the board exams. Nalsingh is from one of the relocated Sahariya villages from Kuno Sanctuary and has been studying at Adharshila since Class 1. He is known for his dedication and hard work and it didn’t come as a surprise when he received the Medhavi Protsahan Puraskar (Award for Encouraging Meritorious Students) for acing the state board examination.
Coming from an Adivasi family with day to day challenges of subsistence, Nalsingh realised that his education can open better life prospects for him and his family. Soon after finishing school, he applied for the post of Satellite teacher at Adharshila. Considering his hard work and dedication, he was appointed as the SRC teacher at our newly opened SRC in village Dangpura.

With nearly 30 beneficiary villages and over 1200 students, Adharshila has built a network of free and quality education with a foundation of strong community relations. We hope to grow further with your support. If you relate to our work and are interested in our initiative, do support us and spread the word amongst your circle.
