Meraj - field team leader

For the last many months, Adharshila has been sharing with you case studies of its beneficiaries, update on various school activities and its achievements through success stories. This time we decided to introduce you to our team. Meraj, an Economics graduate from the University of Delhi, has been the backbone of Adharshila since its inception. His deep involvement with the local community and unique child centric ideology has helped Adharshila in scaling new heights. Recently he has been joined by two young professionals from Delhi, to work for teacher’s capacity building and professionalizing Adharshila’s administration.

We are proud and happy to announce the expansion of Adharshila’s field team, with two young and inspiring women who have joined us this month. Priyanka Singh has a post graduate degree in Environment and Development from Delhi, and has joined the team as the Administrator. Her courageous attitude enabled her to fight huge social odds and join Adharshila for what she calls a journey of unlearning and relearning for a meaningful life. “What Adharshila School is imparting to its students is indeed appreciable but what it has done beyond that, really echoes through me and my story” says Priyanka.

Kriti Srivastav initially visited Adharshila last year for conducting training workshops for our teachers. Even after working in the field of education for more than a decade, she was starved for a field experience where the ground level dynamics of teaching can be understood and solutions could be derived. We are delighted that eventually, she found that space in Adharshila. “The teachers’ motivation to do something for the community and children was moving…What most attracted me to join the team was that I could sense the presence of psychological and intellectual space, where I may serve with my experience and knowledge”

With each passing year our outreach has been expanding. New challenges have emerged, which require dedicated and specialized team members. As our support network grows worldwide, more people are joining the initiative for support. Team Adharshila is a wonderful combination of individuals who have given up fast-track urban careers based on their strong belief in Adharshila’s vision and the passion to make a difference to society.

Please do spread the word about Adharshila and its fantastic team among your friends, colleagues and family too and those who wish to volunteer can write to us. We’ll be delighted to host you. Also do share your views on our Global Giving page, and on your own social media spaces. Thank you for your constant support in this journey.
