The conflict in Ukraine has forced thousands to seek refuge in eastern Romania. Among them are vulnerable children, lacking education in their language and adjusting to a new country. To aid them, we've set up 3 kindergarten groups for 60 refugee children in our Community Centers for Refugees, led by Ukrainian educators. These groups offer tailored education and Romanian language classes. We also provide meals, socialization, and extended care. Help us sustain this vital support!
The conflict in Ukraine has led to a significant influx of refugees into Romania, notably in cities like Galati and Braila. Among them are small children aged 2-6 lacking access to education. Our organization established three kindergarten groups, supporting over 50 children monthly. However, ongoing conflict and dwindling support threaten their sustainability. Securing funding for the upcoming school year is crucial to providing these children with the educational foundation they urgently need.
Our project addresses urgent educational needs by establishing three specialized kindergarten groups within our Community Centers for Refugees. Led by dedicated Ukrainian educators, these groups provide personalized education tailored to the linguistic and cultural backgrounds of 60 children. Additionally, Romanian language classes enhance integration, while nutritious meals and extended care until 5 pm support their well-being and family needs.
The project will prevent developmental issues in refugee children by providing them access to early education. Incorporating Romanian language classes will ease their integration into the host community. Nutritious meals will ensure their health, crucial as many refugee families face financial challenges. With extended care, parents can pursue employment opportunities knowing their children are cared for throughout the day.
