The new academic year at AIC begun with a wonderful news of 100% result in Grade 10 board exam.  Our grade 12 students did quite well too where 11 out of 12 students passed the exam. After receiving the results students right away got busy with college admission processes. AIC team provided all the guidance and support to complete these processes. All the students have started their college classes in the last 3 months and are now busy with the preparation of the upcoming semester exams. Our school students have been enrolled to their respective schools too and have set their goals for this year.

This quarter students got an opportunity to learn guitar and photography skills at the center. Natasha who is a professional singer and musician approached AIC to conduct singing and guitar classes for students. And Srijith, a photographer by passion who is working as a graphic designer expressed interest to help students pick photography skills. They started with the guitar and photography classes on every Saturday starting in the month of June and continued till August. Quite a few children from grade 4 and above showed interest in enrolling for the classes. Finally 15 students attended guitar classes whereas 7 students participated in the photography class.

Natasha and Srijith were amazed by children’s positivity and enthusiasm during the class. During a conversation with Natasha, she mentioned that she expected to have a difficult time teaching the students at AIC. She was pleasantly surprised when students confidently interacted with her in English, and also took an extra step to help each other understand the technicalities of playing a guitar. Moreover the classes was very interactive where children would express their wishes to learn a particular song. Children learnt many Hindi and English songs and were always eager to learn more.

On the other hand, Srijith was astonished to see the confidence in children while handling the camera and creatively taking pictures. Most of the children picked up the skill pretty fast and easily understood complex features of a DSLR camera. In total 7 sessions for photography and 9 sessions of guitar were conducted in the last 3 months. Below are few pictures taken by students during the class:

We at AIC are in constant look for prospects to provide exposure and new opportunities to children. To encourage football champions at AIC, we collaborated with “Mega Pro Football academy” who conducted football sessions for 5 days. In this program, 20 students received guidance from professional football coaches while learning new methods. Children would get up early morning at 5 am to participate in these sessions.

Our teachers too are frequently looking for growth avenues and professional development. 4 of our teachers attended Dance-in-Eucation workshop by Art sphere. In the workshop they learnt how to make the routine classroom topics more engaging and interactive through dance. Teachers will further take the same session for all the other teachers in coming month.

Another recent achievement for AIC was the increase in the hemoglobin count of the students. During the bi annual health check up of the students it was observed that the average hemoglobin count of the students has increased by 1% as compared to the previous data. Additionally it was found that the average attendance in the last 3 months was 85% which was higher as compared to the last academic year.
