This main part of this project situated in rural Uganda, seeks to replace the mud-walled classrooms (photo provided) of Bukhonzo Primary School with brick walled classrooms. Other goals include provision of schooling and related requirements such as, books and stationary, school, uniforms, including shoes and nutritious meals.
Through your generosity, a lot of progress has been made in the last three months. While the older children of Bukhonzo have received school uniforms and shoes, progress has also been made towards building the brick walled classrooms. The wall structures and roofing has been completed for four classrooms (photos provided) and the children are already learning inside these new structures. However, we still require further funding towards the flooring, plastering of the inner walls and fixing windows. With your kind support, we will certainly get there.
Donors like you are helping to provide good primary education for the orphans and vulnerable rural Ugandan children and to prepare them for high school. A good education will ultimately raise literacy levels and help break the cycle of poverty and deprivation that is generally prevalent in rural Uganda. You are not just providing bricks and books for these children who are growing up and learning in a challenging environment; you are giving them hope for a much brighter future.
Thank you once again. We are deeply grateful for your support!
