Champions Return from the Netherlands

Rising Sun Education & Welfare Society is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Husnain Nazir, one of our talented students and athletes, who represented both Pakistan and Rising Sun at the FIH Para Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026.

Husnain’s participation at this prestigious international event reflects the determination, talent, and potential of persons with different abilities when provided with the right opportunities and support. We are particularly proud that Team Pakistan returned home with the Challenge Trophy, marking a memorable achievement for the national para-hockey team.

This achievement is a proud milestone for Rising Sun and an important reminder of the power of opportunity, inclusion, and determination.

Educational Achievement and Transition to Higher Education

We are pleased to report a significant educational milestone for students of Rising Sun. The second batch of students has successfully completed their Matriculation examinations through the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore.

This achievement is particularly meaningful as the students took their exams alongside their peers without special needs, demonstrating their academic potential, determination, and ability.

The successful transition of these students to higher education is another important outcome. All three boys have secured admission to Government College University, while both girls students have secured admission to Kinnaird College.

This milestone reflects the impact of sustained educational support and learning opportunities in enabling students with special needs to secure further education and move towards greater independence and participation in society.

Vocational Training Team Represents Rising Sun at HESP

Rising Sun’s Vocational Team proudly represented the organization at the Health & Education Summit (HESP) at Expo, providing an opportunity for our artisans with special needs to showcase their skills and creativity.

The beautifully crafted products prepared by our vocational trainees received warm appreciation from members of the medical fraternity attending the summit. Their participation provided a valuable platform to demonstrate the abilities, creativity, and dedication of persons with different abilities.

The event highlighted the importance of vocational training, meaningful participation, and inclusive opportunities in enabling persons with special needs to develop skills, gain confidence, and contribute actively to society.

Community Engagement and Student Enrichment Activity

As part of our efforts to provide students with meaningful opportunities for social interaction, learning, and community engagement, Rising Sun welcomed the team from Mayfair Technology Partners (MTP) for an interactive activity with our students.

The MTP team organized an engaging session designed to encourage participation, sharing, communication, and positive social interaction. Students actively participated in the activities and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the visiting team in a supportive and encouraging environment. The session provided a joyful learning experience while promoting confidence, social engagement, and a sense of belonging among the students.

Such community engagement activities contribute to our broader objective of creating opportunities for persons with special needs to participate meaningfully in society and fostering greater understanding, acceptance, and inclusion within the wider community.

Strengthening Inclusive Education Through Teacher Training

Since 2009, Rising Sun has trained thousands of teachers across Pakistan, conducted screening camps, and provided continuous post-training guidance and support to partner schools. Our core objective has been to share our professional expertise and practical resources with mainstream schools so that they can provide meaningful and quality education to children with special needs living within their communities.

As a practice-based organization, Rising Sun places particular emphasis on practical, classroom-oriented skills. Our training programs are designed to equip teachers with strategies that they can apply directly in their classrooms to support diverse learners and address their individual learning needs.

Our continued commitment, perseverance, and pursuit of better practices remain the driving force behind our efforts to advance inclusive education across Pakistan.

From Rising Sun Students to University Students

We are delighted to celebrate an important milestone in the journey of our students. After years of learning, growth, and dedicated support, our students have successfully taken the next step in their educational journey and have gained admission to Government College University Lahore (GCU Lahore).

Behind this achievement lies years of perseverance and collective effort. From helping the children develop the confidence to take their first steps towards independence to seeing them grow into confident and capable young individuals, the journey has involved many challenges and milestones.

The unwavering support of their parents, siblings, teachers, and the Rising Sun team, together with the students’ own determination and commitment, has played a vital role in reaching this point.

Today, these young people are ready to enter a wider world of learning and opportunity. Their admission to GCU Lahore is a significant achievement and an important step towards greater independence and participation in mainstream society.

We congratulate our students on this remarkable milestone and wish them every success as they embark on this new chapter.

Celebrating Farhan Farooq’s 52nd Birthday

Rising Sun was delighted to celebrate the 52nd birthday of Farhan Farooq, one of the  most cherished members of the Rising Sun family.

Farhan holds a special place in Rising Sun’s history as its second student, who joined the organization in 1984. Over the past four decades, he has grown alongside Rising Sun, becoming an integral part of its journey and development.

Today, Farhan is a proud and valued member of our Production Team, where he contributes his skills and abilities to the creation of products made through Rising Sun’s vocational programs.

His journey—from being one of Rising Sun’s very first students to becoming a contributing member of its workforce—is a powerful reflection of the importance of continuity, skill development, meaningful work, and inclusion.
