By providing education and care, we can break the cycle of poverty and restore hope to children and their families. Your donation helps to provide children in Uganda with education, supplies, two daily meals, and hope for a brighter future!
Uganda has 2.5 million children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, and 10 million children living in poverty. In this urban slum, just on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda, families are struggling to survive. Families don't have resources to meet even the most basic needs, and 60% of our children don't get regular meals at home. The cost of school supplies, uniforms, and fees puts education out of reach.
At Calvary Primary School, the Bridges for Children program feeds children two meals each day during the school term. We provide school fees or partial tuition assistance for these children, as well as supplies, uniforms, and personal hygiene items. When children are sick, we take them for medical care. We continue to cover tuition through secondary school and vocational training.
We will educate 300 children who would not be in school without this intervention, equipping them to be active and successful in their community to break the bonds of poverty.
