Safe & Loving Care for 130 Children: GlobalGiving

By Dolci Donata | Founder and Manager of Baanunrak

 1. Executive Summary

We are thrilled to share a milestone of pure joy and pride with our GlobalGiving community. The academic school year has officially ended, marking a significant moment of transition for our children. This year, we celebrated the graduation of 15 students across various academic levels. As these young individuals step beyond our familiar walls to pursue their dreams, we reflect on their resilience and look forward to supporting their journey toward independence.

2. Celebrating Our Graduates

Graduation is a monumental achievement for any child, but for the children at Baan Unrak, it represents a triumph over profound challenges. Each student has shown incredible dedication, sacrificed, and put in tireless effort to reach this day.

This academic year, we proudly honor:

  • 7 Primary School Graduates (Grade 6): Rid, Jack, Meng, Fasai, Nam Cha, Yaya, and Puspa.
  • 3 Junior High School Graduates (Grade 9): Rita, Muk, and Maliwan.
  • 5 High School Graduates (Grade 12): Karuna, Pokwayee, Champoo, Tenaiso, and Suchannya.

Besides our children of Baan Unrak, we also celebrated with the children of those who grew up with us and are still part of our extended family. Mala and Heng’s child, Hope, graduated together with our children.

3. Stepping into a New Dimension of Life

These graduates are now choosing unique educational and career paths tailored to their personal interests and passions. Some of the graduates, this transition means moving beyond the shelter of our home into bigger cities like Bangkok.

They are entering a wider world where they must learn to rely on themselves, manage their responsibilities, and cultivate independent lives through universities or vocational paths. Though the journey ahead requires immense courage, their time at Baan Unrak has given them a strong foundation of values, survival skills, and confidence.

4. A Call for Blessings and Encouragement

As these 15 bright individuals stand at the doorway of a completely new chapter, we ask our global community to join us in celebrating them. Please send your warmest blessings, thoughts, and encouragement their way. We pray that they find the strength to overcome future obstacles, the resilience to learn from life's lessons, and the determination to achieve every single goal they have set for themselves.
