By Andrew M. Niwagaba | Project Leader
I would like to extend new year greetings to all our friends, well wishers, donors, partners. Happy New Year 2017 from Ngoma Aid Foundation. I'm happy to report that we ended the year 2016 on a high and would like to appreciate your support towards the project. Thank you and keep the support coming.
The project did experience some fundraising and other challenges in 2016 although the team managed to pull some resources to ensure project continuity. Having ended 2016 on a high, the project has began the New Year 2017 with alot of uncertainties. The team is at a point where we need everyone's support.
On a brighter note, the children played their part and excelled in their studies save for Nina and Bright who were asked to repeat Primary Two and Primary Four classes repsectively. Our only candidate of the year ending 2016, Miss Natasha excelled in her Primary leaving examinations and will be joining Kigezi High School (I went to the same school in the late 1980s and early 1990s) for her secondary education. The biggest challenge for now is to put up her school requirements including fees and scholarstic materials so that she can report to school on day one for a good and fresh start. We at NAF wish her well on her new academic challenge.
Prossy and Asiimwe will be joing Senior Four at the start of the new school term. Senior Four marks the end of the Ordinary level Certificate of Education in Uganda and the options after Senior Four are that the student can go on and join Advanced Level of Education that enables them join University or branch off for a Certificate course in Nursing, Primary School teaching and a host of other qualifications depending on the performance. This highlights the importnance of this year to their academic journey. We wish them well too.
Tumwine and Gladys will be joining Senior three this year. Evas was promoted to Primary Three, Abigaba and AnnaMary promoted to Primary Four, and Tayebwa promoted to Primary Five. Schools open in the the next two weeks (6th Feb 2017). The children are currently home for the third term school holidays. The children still need your support and the new school term opens with it's own challenges. The children will need new uniforms, new pairs of shoes , scholastic materials, school fees food and other domestic requirements. They also need reading materials for lower classes.
The project can only continue with your support. I request that our dear donors and well wishers consider to support the project as we continue to make a difference in these childrens lives.
Happy New Year 2017 Once again
