First School Term 2022 Updates

By Andrew M, Niwagaba | Project Leader

Greetings to you all our donors, friends and well wishers that have supported the project over the years. We at NAF are grateful for your continued support. We could not have registered project achievemnets without your assistance and support. Thank you always. The first school term of 2022 is underway after two years of school closures in Uganda. We are glad that there seem to be no indications that there will be more closures in the future unless something drastic happens in regard to COVID 19. The children lost two years of their academic life and are now committed to picking up from where they stopped.

I am happy to report that Bright, AnnaMary, Evas and Ian are in theior candidate classes and will register and sit for the Primary leaving Examinations at the end of 2022. Ian will be sitting for his O'level certificate examinations. Tracy, Trevor, Godwin, Aineamani are back to school too (Lower Primary). Isaac and Natasha should have joined secondary school and certificate training respectively but due to the current financial challenges, they are still home. Gladis has since completed her teaching certificate course and is now a kindergaten teacher and on her own. Kobwa an Hungu were are nolonger with us as they ere taken back to Rwanda by their surviving relatives. Breah has since left the house too and is now on his own trying to make ends meet as a young adult.

It has been tough providing for the children - it always is - but I am happy to report that we have been recieving some food and household assistance from our old beneficiaries Phina, James and Ponsiano who qualified in different disciplines and are working. They however have to take care of their families and personal needs but nevertheless we are honoured to see that they have not abandoned the journey. We are determined to continue supporting the children that are still with us. It is very important to offer them all the support they need to shape their future. Your support and assistance to the project remains valuable for us to achieve this objective. We thank you always.
