Greeatings to all our donors, friends and well wishers. I hope you are all keeping safe during these challenging COVID 19 times. I took time to reflect on what an amazing journey it has been for us at NAF over the last decade and would like to convey our sincere gratitude to you for walking with us on this amazing journey. We appreciate your every steps along the way.
I would like to point out that this specific project has been our signature project of the decade. The project was inspired by my own childhood challenges and the need that i had experienced in the community as a child. I can never thank you enough for making making my dream come true and for enabling us to register the achievements registered so far. Unlike other projects, this project was quite unique. We have no set deadline, the results take years to be realised and the project requires daily input on a range of things that rotate around basic needs like food , shelter and clothing. Thank you for your support over the years.
I am happy to report that, over the years we have been been able to positively impact lives of 40 children of different age ranges. Our most decorated beneficiary graduated with a BA Arts degree from Makerere University while the youngest at the moment is just starting primary school. Our methodology involved capping the number of children at 15 children at any given time although there was we shot to 20 children given the urgent need. The ones that complete their education and stay with us are replaced to maintain the project magic number of 15.
As you will tell from our past reports, some of the older children that have completed school - usually at certificate level - have since moved on to start their own lives. Some are teachers, some are small scale entreprenuers. Gladys and James should have completed their certificate courses in nursery teaching and plumbing respectively had it not been for covid and Bright, Prince, Kenema and Nsimenta should have now progressed to secondary school. Schools have been closed for two years in Uganda.
On a sad note, we lost one of the earlier beneficiaries who was now a full grown man working as a driver. All the others can be physically traced and some do volunteer and contribute to the activities of NAF and home needs of our current beneficiaries when,if and where they can. Asked if this is something i would do again if the years were to roll back, most definitely yes. I am humbled that i have been able to use my hard fought for education and platform to influence, shape and support disadvantaged children. Your contributions and involvement made this entire experience worthwhile. Thank you for your support and keep supportingthis signature life changing project. Knowledge is Power
