Greetings to all our friends, donors and well-wishers. We hope you are keeping safe during this "chaotic" period of the global pandemic of the Corona Virus. We too are keeping safe.
Over a week ago, the government of Uganda set decrees that ushered in lockdown for 30 days. Schools were closed and everyone was urged to keep home so as to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. We were not prepared for this eventuality and neither was the world. As a result, the children are currently at home and not attending school. We are following the set guidelines to the core so as to keep safe. The new guidelines and the current situation has however affected us in a number of ways. We now require more food and household supplies since the children cannot have lunch at school. Lunch during school days is never part of our budget unless someone is sick.
In the meantime, the children have been attending school without the school fees bill being cleared. Like I have stated in the past, we strive to maintain healthy working relationships with our suppliers given that we genuinely lack a steady flow of funding and depend largely on our donors and goodwill for project funding. Whereas the fees problem has been temporarily suspended due to the school closure, It still needs to be solved as soon as or before normality returns, This remains a big challenge too that needs to be urgently dealt with.
As we try to keep safe and under lockdown, we worry that hunger might wipe us off before the coronavirus as our food stock dwindles by the day. We thus call for your help and support. We are determined to ensure that the children are supported and we can only achieve this with your help. You are welcome to help us keep safe while you too are keeping safe. Thank you for your support always
