Happy New Year 2019 to all our donors, friends and well wisheres. We had a peaceful, joyful and colourful festive season and hope you enjoyed your holidays too. We are all fine at NAF and steadily positioning ourselves in the new year. The children are back to school for the first term of the year and it has been a busy February so far. Nina, AnaMaria and Prince will be changing schools and this is partly because we need to reduce on the school fees costs that have been a challenge over the years. It is always in our interest to give them the best that we can afford and sadly, we have reached this decision to change to fairly cheaper schools. Joseph, Evas, Nimusima, Natasha, Olive and Bright will remain in their previous school and so will Emmanuel. Julia (named after one of our donors because she was not baptised when she became our beneficiary) the new girl that we reported about sometime last year will be joining nursery school and will now together with Emmanuel walk to their school together. We also felt it was necessary to seperate them so that they probably share different perspectives. Piu will start school this year too.
The results for last years Ordinary level examinations are out and Gladys and Tumwine are looking for what to do next. Tumwine performed slightly better than Glady but none of them qualifies for Advanced level of education. Our take is that they join college and start another life there. We have supported them over the years with your help and support, and they are almost achieving their goals. I must mention that they have transitioned and are responsible adults. Tumwine, will most likely join a Primary Teacher Training College and qualify as a grade three teacher after two years. He can always upgrade when he starts working in the future. Gladys will most likely start off as a kindergaten/nursery school teacher although she was suggesting that she re sits the exams, this would mean more expenses and there is no guarantee that she will perform better although this cannot be ruled out. We will continue to have a discussion with her on the possibilities. We will keep you posted with developments to this regard in the next report. The children still need your help and we are doing everything with in our reach to provide a home for them and even support some community children when we have an opportunity and the capacity to. The school fees bill for this term has not been dealt with at all. We do not have any outstanding bills for last year in regard to fees, food and other supplies. We will do good with your support in 2019. The struggle continues
Happy Newyear 2019
