Project Report | Jun 6, 2011
We are grateful

By A.M Niwagaba | Project Leader

I would like to extend my greetings to all donors, friends and well wishers of Ngoma Aid Foundation. I also would like to thank you all for the support you continue to extend to us.

It is close to three month since I posted a project report and am happy to update you yet again on what is happening on our side.

The girls and everyone else is in good health and spirit save for Lispar who, like I reported earlier had left the house to go and stay with her surviving relatives.

Shamim has after a longtime enrolled for a certificate course and am sure she will gain some skills that she will find vital in her future endeavors. Josphine will be joining University come August 2011. We are very proud of her achievements given that she is our oldest beneficiary and continues to be a role model to the younger girls.

I am sorry I have not kept my word as regards posting new and recent pictures of the girls. I have not had access to a camera and yes we do not have a camera of our own. I still promise that I will post them as soon as I have them taken.

We are also planning on taking on a new girl. She is young, lives in rural Ntungamo, orphaned, deaf and dumb. I am not good at sign language but from my "interaction" with her recently, she seemed to suggest that I ask for her mother's permission in regard to taking her to a deaf school in kampala and when the mother nodded in the affirmative, her face lit up with joy. I am making arrangements to see how we can help her join Ntinda school of the deaf. Until recently she has been attending normal school but it does not make sense given that she is deaf and dumb and a special needs pupil. I will keep you posted about the same.

It is the second school term here in Uganda. All the fees bills have been cleared and the girls are in their respective schools. We are happy and grateful for your support as we continue to take on stride at a time.

I wish you all the best

A.M. Niwagaba
