On Monday 3rd April, I and one of our new TANF volunteer from the UK (Philip) went to a Global Giving workshop in Accra. The workshop was run by Eleanor Harrison, CEO of Global Giving UK. Since then we have been working tirelessly to improve our project using all the tips shared during the workshop. A specific target is to reach more supporters via Global Giving and to make the most out of all the features available to us on this fantastic site.
One of the first things we did after the workshop was to visit all of the schools we currently have our sponsored children attending for an Evaluation visit. During the visit we spoke to the children sponsored by TANF through your generous support. We spent time with them finding out about their current performance and motivating them during this exam period. We also spoke to their teachers for feedback and areas the students need more support in. Our aim is to collect their stories and share them with you -so keep an eye out for these!
In addition to this we have decided to work on our Newsletters to keep all of you updated more frequently. If you are not yet signed up to our mailing list, but you would like to find out more about what we are doing on a regular basis, then you can sign up here
An additional area we are seeking to improve on and do more is in the area of our health missions. We are aiming to have over 2,000 beneficiaries from our free health screenings by the end of this year. In order to make this possible we are making a call for more health volunteers, like Jonas and Sofie who helped organise and facilitate a health screening on malaria in Senya Breku. We accept volunteers from all walks of life and backgrounds and are happy to mould placements around individual’s strengths and interests.
We will continue to work on our strategies over the next coming weeks and will update you with all that’s new in our next report! Until then, Thank you for your continuous support, keep spreading the news and have a lovely week.
