Our brilliant 16 years old Nancy

By Laud Akuffo | Executive Directive

Nancy is a bright 16 years old girl who is very passionate about education and would give her all to have access to education. Unfortunately, she had to drop out from school during her last year due to many difficulties that were preventing her from attaining the education she wanted. Some of these difficulties included luck of financial support from her parents to enable her continue with her schooling. She is staying with her single mother who's farming job is not stable enough to support her while her dad is nowhere to be found. Also the distance between her home and the school she attended was about 2 hours of walking and she has to cover that distance to and from school every day since she could not afford the fare of the vehicle that could convey people from that village to the nearest town where her school was located.

It has been a year since she last went to school. Her favourite subject was science and she wants to become a medical doctor in future.

At Tanf Ghana, we know the importance of educating the girl child and the value of gender equality which is why we are ever ready to do all that we can to ensure that she enrolls back to school.

With the help of individual donors like you, we are preparing to send Nancy to school to finish her last year in Junior High school and proceed to senior high school to achieve her future dream of becoming a medical doctor.

Follow us and we will keep you updated about Nancy and her education from present. Thank you for your support and as you keep supporting us, we can together change the lives of people like Nancy.
