Project Report | Oct 1, 2026
New cohort of winning circular designers

By Hannah Lane | Development Director

We wanted to share a special update with you. Because of the support of people like you, Redress continues to give emerging designers the knowledge, tools and opportunities they need to help transform fashion from the drawing board up.

Last month, we celebrated the Redress Design Award 2026, bringing together eight emerging designers from around the world to demonstrate what fashion can look like when waste is treated as a resource rather than an inevitable by-product.

Congratulations to Jon Liesenfeld from Germany, this year’s First Prize Winner, whose collection demonstrated how circular design can be both creatively ambitious and commercially relevant. Jasmine Cheuk from Hong Kong was named Runner-Up and Hong Kong Best, while Tal Zohar from Israel received the People’s Choice Award, voted for by the public.

But for us, the Award is about much more than a competition.

It is about building the next generation of designers who can help shift an entire industry.

This year’s finalists transformed factory surplus, discarded garments, excess stock and furnishings waste into new collections. They also took part in our Remake to Retail challenge, turning discarded post-consumer clothing into retail-ready pieces in collaboration with TAL Apparel and D-mop with the resulting collection due to launch later this year.

And the impact continues well beyond the runway.

Today, our alumni network includes 350+ designers, while Redress has directly educated more than 36,500 fashion designers and educators globally, with our online educational resources reaching 18 million views.

These are the kinds of long-term changes that your support makes possible: equipping designers with practical circular skills, connecting them with industry, and helping bring more desirable alternatives into the mainstream.

There is still so much work to do. The global textile industry remains less than 1% circular, while an estimated 120 million tonnes of textile waste are generated every year.

If you would like to help us continue this work, we would be deeply grateful for your support. Whether through a donation, a renewed partnership, or simply sharing our work with your network, every contribution helps us reach more designers, engage more consumers and accelerate the transition to a circular fashion industry.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We are incredibly grateful to have you with us as we work towards a fashion industry where creativity and sustainability go hand in hand.

With gratitude,

The Redress Team
