We are planning to construct a new school building in goonagummi Village, Vishakapatnam District, for 25 children who currently study in an old, unsafe shed. During the rainy season, water seeps into the shed, forcing classes to be canceled. To address this, we propose a 300 sq. ft. classroom with proper walls, roofing, ventilation, and furniture. The school will include basic desks and chairs for the children, a teacher’s desk, a blackboard or whiteboard, and internal and external painting to provide a safe and functional learning environment. The structure will also include waterproofing and minor roofing repairs to ensure durability during monsoon seasons.

The estimated construction cost for this initial setup is 6,00,000 INR, covering basic construction, furniture, painting, and waterproofing. This project will provide uninterrupted education, improve children’s confidence, and lay the foundation for future expansion to accommodate more students. By supporting this initiative, donors and well-wishers can directly contribute to the education and growth of these children, ensuring they have access to a proper school and a brighter future.

Supporting a Single Mother Raising Two School-Going Children

We recently supported a single mother raising two children who is experiencing financial hardship. She lives in Madhavadhara, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Her children are currently studying in 9th standard and 7th standard. The support was provided to help cover their second-term school tuition fees and essential school supplies. Due to limited income and the absence of family support, the mother was under significant stress about continuing her children’s education.

With the help of our generous donors, we were able to:

• Contribute toward the second-term tuition fees for both children (9th and 7th standard)

• Provide essential school supplies, including notebooks, stationery, and learning materials

This timely assistance has eased the mother’s financial burden and ensured that both children can continue their education without interruption. Supporting education for children from single-parent households is crucial to building a more secure and hopeful future.
