In Kandara, rural Kenya, many children and young people lack access to books, computers, internet, and safe learning spaces due to poverty and limited resources. As a result, many are excluded from educational and digital opportunities, leaving them vulnerable to social exclusion, poor mental wellbeing, substance abuse, crime, and early teen pregnancy.
This project will establish a Community Learning Hub in Kandara, Kenya, equipped with books, computers, internet access, and educational resources. Children and young people will have access to digital skills training, educational workshops, mentorship, mental health support, and a safe space to learn, study, and develop new skills. The hub will provide opportunities for learning, personal development, and positive community engagement.
The project will support more than 500 children and young people each year with access to education, digital skills, mentorship, and mental health support. By increasing educational opportunities and reducing barriers to learning, the project will help improve wellbeing, employability, and life outcomes while reducing social exclusion and helping young people break cycles of poverty in Kandara, Kenya.
