October 2026 Scholarship Program Update

By Hannah Provost | Board Member

Hello Scholarship program supporters!

As always, thank you for the support you bring to our mission of educating the future of El Salvador. Excitingly, the students of San Jose Villanueva are finishing up the school year this week! Twenty-one of the high school students in our scholarship program are graduating. Fourteen are graduating from the 3-year high school program, and seven are graduating from the 2-year technical program. We are excited for them on their next stage of their journey in education, and life.

We often focus on addressing the needs of new potential scholarship students when we communicate about the scholarship program—there are more and more students every year who could benefit from this support. But in this moment, we are happy to celebrate what this program is all about: ensuring every student, no matter their economic circumstances, has the opportunity to learn and grow, and take those learnings into their bright futures. These students graduating, and another year of school completed for all the others, is a meaningful moment to reflect on what this program is all about: hope, building skills and capacity, and building self-trust within these students, so that they can move forward in their life with all the assets at their disposal that every student deserves.

Again, as we noted in our previous report, this 2026 school year, Epilogos was able to support 164 scholarships, from elementary to college. In addition, our programming supported 2 trained special education teachers, and 1 school administrator in the high school, to ensure that the schools have the infrastructure to meet the needs of the students who are seeking an education.

Finally, we're excited to share that this year, for the first time, we had 9 high school students from La Lima, a cantone over an hour walk away from school. This area has been inaccessible for years, but after some troubleshooting and solving for the long commute, we are happy these nine students now have the opportunity to take advantage of furthering their education.
The pictures depict elementary students doing a traditional Salvadoran dance, special education students ready for a school-wide event celebrating the environment, and a group of our elementary scholarship students.
Thank you for your support—we hope you can continue to drive the impact of Epilogos programs.

Your generosity is shaping a student's life!
