Your support continues to improve opportunities for young people in our partner communities. It is especially important now, when governments in wealthier countries are turning away from international solidarity, war in the Middle East continues to impact fuel and food security, and the recent Ebola outbreak in DRC threatens to escalate.
Our focus this year is supporting six college students in their final year of study, advancing pupils from primary school to high school, completing construction of new classrooms in Bulobi, and developing community-based education projects for young people.
We work to the principles of Asset-Based Community Development. Every individual that benefits from your donations is committed to returning their skills to the community and working for the benefit of others. Nursing, law, social work, and education graduates will add to the community skill base and extend the volunteer team.
Education builds community resiliance, strengthens networks, and lays a foundation for the future. It is heartnening to see an increase in early-years children attending Agaria Junior School, older children enjoying their studies, and Sam Okwii, our volunteer Field Officer, successfully completing his studies for a Bachelor's in Social Work and graduating in Social Administration. Congratulations are also due to Henry Nandaba for approaching the end of his Master of Fine Arts studies.
