We aim to raise $13,500 to assist three young women complete their higher education. We believe that these bright and motivated women have the potential to empower members of their communities and improve the lives of many. Higher education is vital for assisting these young women into leadership roles to ultimately enact life-changing policies in their communities. It is a critical time in Myanmar and we need your support now more than ever!
The political situation in Myanmar has left its citizens with few opportunities. As a result, many people have fled the country and are now facing significant difficulties navigating day-to-day life and pursuing higher education. Specifically, many ethnic minority women from Myanmar face a tumultuous journey in accessing and completing their education due to instability and legal status. These women seek higher education in order to enact positive social change in their communities.
Through the 2023 Campaign, we are raising funds to provide scholarships for three ambitious, promising young women from marginalized ethnic communities in Myanmar: Bee, Lurn Kham, and Mwe. Obtaining their degrees will allow these three changemakers to pursue leadership positions in healthcare and education where they can contribute to Myanmar's development by driving social reform and enacting change that will empower thousands more like them.
Investing in women's education and supporting their journey toward leadership positions is the best investment as empowering one woman has an amplifying effect of empowering her household, her community, and country as a whole. By assisting these three promising women, you will support them in pursuing education equity and health access in the Shan state. Support these women in creating long-lasting positive impacts in their communities!
