Summary

Millions of women and girls face barriers to quality STEM education due to poverty, gender inequality, limited learning resources, and a lack of mentors. This project will provide STEM training, coding, robotics, digital skills, artificial intelligence, science workshops, mentorship, scholarships, and career guidance for disadvantaged women and girls in Abuja, Nigeria. Your support will help reduce underrepresentation, build practical STEM skills, and prepare participants for STEM careers.

Challenge

Many talented girls miss opportunities to develop STEM skills, leaving them underrepresented in STEM profession and limiting their future education and employment opportunities. Without access to STEM education and marketable skills, many girls from low-income families struggle to secure decent livelihoods. Some leave school early because of financial hardship, increasing their risk of child marriage, exploitative child labor, unintended pregnancy, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.

Solution

This project will provide STEM education, coding, robotics, artificial intelligence training, digital skills, science workshops, scholarships, mentorship, career guidance,and hands-on learning opportunities for disadvantaged women & girls in Abuja, Nigeria.Participants will gain practical skills, confidence, and access to mentors, helping them complete their education, pursue STEM careers, secure decent employment, start businesses, and reduce risk of poverty, exploitation, and social exclusion.

Long-Term Impact

It will increase the number of women and girls pursuing STEM education, higher education, and technology careers in Nigeria while contributing to scientific and technological progress. Participants will gain practical skills that improve their income, create employment opportunities, and support innovation. As more women succeed in STEM, they can become mentors and role models, inspiring future generations and helping reduce gender inequality, poverty and exploitation in underserved communities.
