Nyaka provides free, high-quality education to orphaned and vulnerable children in rural Uganda, ensuring they have the skills, support, and opportunity to thrive. Our model includes primary, secondary, and vocational schools, along with libraries, meals, healthcare, and mentorship. With your help, we're educating future leaders and breaking the cycle of poverty for thousands of children who would otherwise be left behind.
In rural Uganda, children face steep barriers to education due to poverty, orphanhood, and lack of access to quality schools. Many families cannot afford tuition, supplies, or even daily meals, forcing children to drop out or never attend school at all. Without education, these children are more vulnerable to exploitation, early marriage, and chronic poverty, limiting their potential and their communities' future.
Nyaka provides a comprehensive, child-centered education model that goes beyond the classroom. We offer free tuition, school meals, uniforms, books, and healthcare to ensure students can focus on learning. Our three schools serve over 800 students from nursery through secondary and vocational training. We also operate libraries and provide mentorship and psychosocial care. By removing barriers and nurturing the whole child, Nyaka helps students succeed and become leaders in their communities.
Nyaka's education model creates lasting change. Over 293 students have graduated from university, with 94% now employed, self-employed, or continuing their studies. Some have returned to work for Nyaka, serving as teachers and mentors for the next generation. Our students outperform national averages and carry the values of leadership and resilience into their communities. As they succeed and give back, the impact of education continues across generations.
