We thank you for your past donation and want to report that your donations have been sent to New Light India in support of caring for the children of women who have been trafficked. Urmi Basu, the founder and director is an amazing woman who is featured in Nicolas Kristof's (Pulitzer Prize winning New York Time's columnist) book and documentary, Half the Sky.
We admire how Urmi works with the chidlren in the shelter to not just try to stop sex trafficking, but to stop the cycle by educating and sheltering the children. The girls are provided with a safe home away from the red light district where they are going to school, vocational schools and college. Whenever possible, Urmi also assists the mother's in helping to train them in marketiable skills.
We have big plans to expand at New Light India and we truly appreciate your kind and generous support.
Best regards,
Shana
