Gender Bases Violence Campaign 

Twende Pamoja organized a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Awareness Forum on 1st May 2026 at Ndhiwa Primary Grounds, reaching about 300 participants including pupils, teachers, parents, youth, and community members. The forum created a safe and engaging space for the community to learn, reflect, and take action toward preventing gender-based violence.
The event featured educational talks led by resource persons, mentorship sessions for different groups, and interactive discussions where participants explored real-life scenarios and community-driven solutions to GBV. A friendly netball match brought participants together, promoting teamwork and unity while reinforcing the message that ending violence requires collective effort.
Participants gained a deeper understanding of gender equality, legal rights, and the importance of speaking out against violence. Many reported increased confidence in identifying and addressing GBV within their homes and schools. The forum also strengthened community dialogue, encouraging openness around sensitive issues and building a shared commitment to creating safer environments for children.
One of the participants, Darlin Precious from Ndhiwa Hospital Primary School, shared how the session changed her perspective. Initially shy to speak about issues affecting girls, she found confidence through the mentorship discussions. She expressed that she now feels empowered to stand up for herself and support her peers, saying she will not remain silent when she or others face unfair treatment.
