FROM RESCUING TO GLOBAL RECOGNITION

By Joyce Nyoro | Communications Lead

Greetings from the Talia Agler Girls Shelter (TAGS), we are thrilled to share some remarkable news with you, our valued partners and supporters. Our Executive Director, Edith Murogo, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report Hero Award by the U.S. Department of State. This accolade, presented in Washington, D.C., is a testament to her unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership in the fight against human trafficking. Edith’s tireless work has not only elevated TAGS on a global platform but also brought greater visibility to the critical issues we address daily.

This significant recognition highlights the profound impact that TAGS has made under Edith’s guidance. Through our comprehensive programs, which include formal education, vocational training, and psychosocial support, we have been able to empower countless girls to overcome their past traumas and embrace a brighter future. The award not only celebrates her contributions but also serves as a testament to the effectiveness of our shared mission in creating real, lasting change.

We are incredibly grateful for your continued support, which has been vital in sustaining our efforts and expanding our reach. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that none of this would have been possible without you, our dedicated partners. With your support, we will continue to empower more girls, strengthen our programs, and work towards a world free from trafficking. Thank you for being an essential part of our journey.
