Empowering Girls Through Education at Talia Agler Girls Shelter in Kenya

Greetings from TAGS,

We are thrilled to share with you the latest updates from our project at the Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD). Thanks to your unwavering support, we continue to transform the lives of girls at Talia Agler Girls Shelter (TAGS) by providing them with the education and resources they need to build a brighter future.

Despite the heavy rains in Kenya, which delayed school re-openings due to their adverse effects, we ensured the safe hosting of our beneficiaries at the shelter. During this period, they engaged in various activities to stay occupied and productive, such as bead & mat making, piano and music classes.

In 2024, our target is to support 125 girls in education and provide vocational training for girls. So far this year, we have successfully supported 99 girls across Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary education and Vocational training.

At the tertiary level, our beneficiaries are pursuing a variety of courses based on their interests. Some of these courses include Legal studies, Counselling Psychology, Education, Community Health, Criminology, Social Work & Community Development, among others. Your support is crucial in enabling us to keep them in school.

Since their respective admissions, each of our girls has consistently excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities. They've demonstrated their talents in dance and athletics while maintaining remarkable academic records. This dedication has motivated us to continue committing to their cause. To pursue their education, these girls are in dire need of School fees, Uniforms, Shoes, Scholastic materials, Shopping, and Upkeep. Your donations make it possible to meet these needs and admit more vulnerable girls and young women to this educational program at our Shelter.

We remain committed to providing the best support for the girls admitted to Talia Agler Girls Shelter as survivors of Human trafficking, child labor, and Gender-Based Violence believing in the transformative power of education.

Thank you for being a vital part of our journey and for helping us provide a safe and nurturing environment for these young girls. We look forward to sharing more successes and stories of impact with you in the coming future.
