More School Shoes for Underprivileged Children

By Alf Namodi | Project Leader

This project helps to facilitate the education of children and includes the provision of school uniforms and shoes, meals and care to vulnerable and at-risk children living in the poverty and squalor of the Zandspruit Informal Settlement in Johannesburg. This settlement is composed mainly of tin structures otherwise known as shacks.

Thanks to your kind donations, we are happy to have in the past 6 months presented pairs of shoes to a total of 110 boys and girls from Zandspruit Primary School located within the informal settlement. We certainly would not have been able to do this without your support.

In the next quarter, we will be extending our involvement to the children of the Jerusalem Informal settlement located in Florida, Roodepoort. This additional program will require much more resources which we believe can be raised from multiple sources including a sponsored half-marathon event in 6 months’ time. We plan that this fundraising initiative will coincide with the beginning of the new school year in 2026 and will therefore expand our impact as we cater to the needs of the school going children.

We will keep you informed of our plans and as usual hope for your continued support for which we are ever so grateful.

Thank you
