Project Report | Dec 30, 2024
School Shoes for Underprivileged Children

By Alf Namodi | Project Leader

Dear friend,

I hope this report finds you well.

First Love Foundation would like to sincerely thank you for your support over the past year. With all challenges in the nonprofit space, certainly it is all much easier with your valuable support and of course the joy of making a difference in our community.

This project helps to facilitate the education of children and includes the provision of school uniforms and shoes, meals and care to vulnerable and at-risk children amidst the tin structures of the Zandspruit Informal Settlement in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As we draw towards the end of 2024, we take stock of the objectives we laid out at the beginning of year and of course compare these objectives with what we have managed to accomplish to date. In this analysis, we find that while we have made some inroads, yet a lot of work still needs to be done before we can have adequate impact as laid out in our mission objectives.

A few months back, we had the privilege of presenting a pair of shoes each to 51 boys and girls from a primary school within Zandspruit Settlement. A new pair of shoes was such a welcome gift to these 51 children. A new school term commences in a couple of weeks and with the rainy season upon us, the demand for new shoes is even higher. We are still receiving donations and plan to place an order of between 50 to 100 pairs of shoes which we hope to donate during the term.

This is all possible because donors like you give in order to facilitate an elementary education for the children of Zandspruit. You are not just providing basic necessities like shoes for these children but in a seemingly hopeless situation, you are giving them hope for a brighter future.

As always, we remain deeply grateful for your support and with your support, we remain committed to the education of less privileged children and youth and all that concerns their rights, which includes their access to education, health, safe housing etc.

We look forward to a more enhanced partnership in 2025. May you enjoy a Joyous and Prosperous New Year!!

 Siyabonga (Thank you)
