Project Report | Jul 12, 2024
Education for Underprivileged Children

By Alf Namodi | Project Leader

This project helps to facilitate the education of children and whenever possible, includes the provision of school uniforms and shoes, meals and care to vulnerable and at-risk children amidst the tin structures of the Zandspruit Informal Settlement in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In the previous quarter we had the privilege of presenting a pair of shoes each to 51 boys and girls from a primary school within Zandspruit. A new pair of shoes was such a welcome gift to the 51 children. We would have liked to reach many more children with these donations as the situation demands. A new term has just started and the demand for new shoes is higher. However, we are still receiving donations and hope to place an order of between 50 to 100 pairs which we hope to donate in the course of the term.

This is all possible because donors like you give in order to facilitate an elementary education for the less privileged children of Zandspruit. You are not just providing basic necessities like shoes for these children but in a seemingly hopeless situation, you are giving them hope for a brighter future.

We remain always deeply grateful for your support!
