Educate & Empower a Student in Kenya

Educate and Empower, change a Life in Kenya project continues to make a positive change in the lives of school students in Ruaraka. Education plays a pivotal role in the struggle against poverty.

We celebrate our volunteer teachers and mentors who worked tirelessly in the partner schools to improve the academic standards of students. We have witnessed an improvement in the performance of students we support. Based on the results posted by various partner schools and individual students supported by the program, we are pleased that our efforts are yielding success. We are truly changing and improving the lives of individuals in the Ruaraka community.

In 2024, we conducted a mentorship program in 5 schools, engaged 15 volunteer teachers to supplement the teachings and extracurricular activities in these schools and directly benefitted 108 students. Our volunteers will continue to play an influencing role in the Ruaraka community to ensure that assignments and learning resources are given to the students we are supporting in our program. We will continue to directly provide free teaching assistance and support to underprivileged students through mentorship and organising extra-curricular activities.

We are convinced that when individuals have the chance to learn basic life and literacy skills, economies grow faster, and poverty rates decline. That is why Progressive Volunteers is working on all these projects to support needy students and help schools in economically and socially disadvantaged areas in Ruaraka.
