Meet Beatrice!

By Coordinator | Paul M

Progress is continually being made on the educate and empower, change a life in Kenya project. This year we will be sharing stories of positive change in the lives of school children.

Our story is about Beatrice A. who is sitting for her KCPE examinations in March 2022 at Bright and Hope School. She is the first born in a family of 4. Her single parent depend on casual work of Kshs 400 per day for a living. This means that all her siblings are struggling to go to school at the same time and meeting basic needs including Beatrice’s school fees is a challenge.

We met Beatrice through our school mentorship program. Our volunteer teachers/mentors heard her story and decided to link her with PV. Beatrice was enrolled in our tuition fee program and through the support of generous donors like you, she will be sitting for her examination in March 2022, and we expect her to do well in the exams and join secondary school in May 2022.

In Ruaraka communities, due to covid, school going students have been forced to step in and support their families get food on the table. As a result, most students have found themselves taking up responsibilities instead of attending schools.

The ongoing covid-19 pandemic has affected school calendar in Kenya. This year, we will have four school terms to make for the time lost due to covid pandemic. Schools reopened this week for third term which is expected to last for 12 weeks

Thank you for your continued support and changing the life of Beatrice. This year we have 18 children supported to remain in school. These students will be supported the whole year with schools’ fees, school supplies and other basic items needed in school. This means that 18 lives will be transformed as result of your generous giving.
