Indian Association for the Blind (lAB) Madurai based NGO from South India, working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visually challenged. It was founded in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those from rural background
IAB supports inclusive education to ensure that children who are visually impaired are included in mainstream education. This is crucial to lifting people out of poverty. When children with disabilities participate in mainstream education on an equal basis with other children, they learn from an early age that they are equal and valued members of society. They remain in a normal social environment, are no longer isolated and participate more actively in general community activities throughout their lives.
You are not just helping the student on their studies you are addressing all the factors that are keeping the student out of it .You are not just providing the student with a healthy education but also helping build opportunities for the student's family to have a sustainable source of livelihood and income
Truthfully, we could not do this without you Global Giving! We at IAB very happy to share you that we benefited a lot. As a nonprofit community benefit organization, this important work is certainly only possible through the generosity of your support. Your donation can make a difference! We and those we serve, sincerely appreciate your generosity
