ENDING 2018 ON A HIGH NOTE

By Eunice Nkambule | NCP and Sponsorship Coordinator

Graduation ceremony at one of our NCPs
Graduation ceremony at one of our NCPs

Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow and produce their bounty. The same is true for a child’s education, they need to have good preparatory education to excel in their academic life. AOA has 7 NCPs and is on the process of building the 8th. This year’s graduation ceremony boasts of 113 graduates who are moving on to primary school in 2019. It was so moving to see the teachers become emotional as they said goodbye to the children as the community and guardians celebrated their achievements.

We would like to thank our visitors from our partners at Responsible Travel. They filmed a video at our NCP and “Trip for a Trip”. These trips are useful in a number of ways especially educational as the children get to visit places like Mlilwane nature reserve. We cannot wait for this video, which will be out soon.

The exposure on GG has given us new opportunities as we have gained 2 new sponsors through fundraisers. If you would like to join the fundraising efforts you can go to our page and click “create your own fundraiser”. These fundraisers work our sustainability plan and make our NCPs even better!

We end 2018 on a very high note as we took our NCP children to Nyanza stables, where they were able to play and bond with domestic animals such as tortoises, goats, horses, calves etc. they learn about these animals at the NCPs, as it is in line with our curriculum. The children were also treated to a picnic themed Christmas party.

All of us at AOA are very grateful for your continued support because we wouldn’t be here without loyal people like you. You could have chosen any other organization but, but we appreciate that you have continued to support us.

Wishing you all a prosperous New Year and Happy Christmas!

THANK YOU!!
