The COVID-19 Pandemic changed the way we lived everyday. Schools closed and parents had no jobs. Our children and families struggled for basic needs. Most of our children are first generation learners and their parents are migrant daily wage workers. During the lockdown their only source of income being their daily wage disappeared, disabling them to provide food for their families. We were quite concerned about the family's food situation. 

We wanted to help, so WE LAUNCHED TWO NEW INITIATIVES

We thank all our donors for their generosity in supporting SUKRUPA to distribute the first round of Groceries, Vegetables, Snacks and Stationaries for a full month to 270 families

 SUKRUPA Office Team

Team SUKRUPA came forward from the first day of the lockdown and systematically started calling the parents, seamlessly shifted the work process as a call centre and daily online meetings. SuMargadarshak college students who are part of scholarship and mentoring at SUKRUPA stepped up for the occasion by volunteering their time and knowledge to engage the school children by creating WhatsApp class groups, sending out activities each day that they could do with their family and siblings and post the pictures and videos. They then downloaded and shared the compiled videos.

ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM

Our Online learning program through WhatsApp offers Activities for everyday from 1st to 10th Grade. Children have fun and get creative with a wide array of activities like dance, music, art, crafts, math, news and much more.

Although the lockdown is slowly being lifted and everyone wants to move towards normal everyday life we are still in the unknown. It is the toughest of the times as the children’s parents continue to  struggle due to loss of jobs to feed the families.
