Project Report | Oct 30, 2024
An amazing start!!!!

By Plaxcedes Morrison | Advisor

With the support of the communities in Somerset and Dorset, England the project took off with energy matched by the rentusiasim of the recipients in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

Education provies vital skills that empower in many areas of life. C.K was delighted to be back at school with her colleagues; just as she was losing hope, funds were debursed allowing her to rejoin her education. Fortunately for her family and the community around her, she did not partake in any self destructing activities to ruin the possibilities of continuing her education.

Along with her were several other children who have returned to school after some disruptions. Unlike the devleoped countries where you can expect children of certain age to be at similar stages at school, in Mutare, children within the same class will have big age gaps due to disruptions in their journey. It goes without saying that these differences also provide many challenges.

To hear their aspirations melts my heart, there is E.T who would like to be a Doctor, T.F.S would like to be a Mechanic and T.S would like to become a Teacher. This opportunity is giving such young children the focus many may not seek to have until they are much older ;the psychological effects caused by the barriers to learning have force them to mature beyond their ages.

So far only C.K is in secondary school, the others are all still in Primary school. Its such a privilege to hear some of these stories and see the posibilities this project brings.
