Ismael joined Garden of Hope Foundation in 2016 after graduating from high school. First born in a family of six, his parents were not able to take to him to college or university after graduating. His parents earn about $ 5 a day combined. A gifted soccer player, Ismael decided to join a local team with hope of one day joining college, however this did not go well as the team did not have enough resources to support him.
Ismael was introduced to Garden of Hope Foundation by a friend who had gone through our leadership development and entrepreneurship program. This program equip high school graduates and youth who have dropped out of school with leadership and entrepreneurship skills.
Ismael applied to join the program and we accepted him on scholarship, during his time with us He proved not only to be disciplined, but hardworking. He did not have any entrepreneurship or computer skills when he joined the program. Through his hard work, he managed to not only top the class, but also start a small business with skills he had received.
For him to get more skills, Ismael applied to join our volunteer and internship program to be one of computer tutors. Since he graduated in 2017, Ismael has trained more than 50 youth equipping them with computer skills, he has also equipped 20 youth with entrepreneurship and leadership skills.
Ismael is set to join college next year January, he will pursue Diploma in Information Communication Technology. There are over 50 youth like Ismael who are currently waiting to join our leadership development and entrepreneurship program. You can support them by donating $ 30. This will allow them to go through the entire program.
Thank you for your ocntinued support.
