Preparing Teachers for Digital Learning

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

In digital education, subject knowledge alone is not enough. Teachers also need the technical and pedagogical skills to deliver lessons effectively and engage with students across distances.

With this in mind, newly recruited teachers at Masarat School participated in an intensive training workshop on Microsoft Teams, the primary platform we use to deliver live lessons to our students.

During the workshop, teachers explored tools for managing virtual classrooms, organizing lessons, and encouraging direct student interaction. They also completed practical exercises simulating situations they may encounter during online teaching.

The goal was not simply to become familiar with the platform, but to use technology to create an interactive learning experience where students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions, and communicate confidently with their teachers.

These skills are especially important for our orphaned and displaced students, for whom remote education provides an opportunity to continue learning despite difficult living circumstances and geographical barriers.

The better equipped teachers are to manage virtual classrooms and engage with students, the greater the opportunity to create an educational experience where every learner feels supported and included, even when studying from home or a place of displacement.

At Masarat, we believe strengthening teachers' skills is essential to improving educational quality. Successful digital learning depends as much on the people using technology as it does on the tools themselves.

Thanks to your generosity through GlobalGiving, we continue strengthening our teachers' capabilities and providing a digital learning environment that helps students learn, participate, and move forward with their education.

Thank you for supporting education that bridges distances and gives students the opportunity to learn from well-prepared teachers who are ready to guide them throughout their educational journeys.
