When Mohammed Began to See His Future Again

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

Just a few months ago, continuing his education seemed far beyond reach for Mohammed. His days began and ended with work. He would wake up, get ready for the day, perhaps find something small to eat, and then head to work instead of school. By evening, he would return exhausted and sleep, only to begin the same routine again the next morning.

This is the reality faced by many orphan students in Syria, whose difficult economic circumstances and displacement have forced them away from education and postponed dreams that should have been part of their childhood and youth.

But remote learning opened a door that had not been available to Mohammed before. As he puts it simply: “Remote education is the solution. The school came to you, so why not learn?”

Today, Mohammed no longer sees education as something beyond his circumstances. He has a goal to work toward, and he has begun setting goals and planning for his future with greater confidence. His circumstances no longer have to define what he can become.

He captures this renewed sense of possibility in his own words: “Education builds generations… hand in hand, we will rebuild Syria.”

Thank you for helping Mohammed return not only to education, but to a space where he can dream, plan, and move forward.

With your continued support, other students can find the same path and begin turning postponed dreams into goals they can pursue.

You are a partner in this journey—and in every future that begins with the opportunity to learn.
