When Education Becomes a Way Back to Life

By Abdulrazak Madi | Project Leader

“When you are both a student and a provider for your family, life becomes a difficult test.”

With these words, Haider described a reality faced by many orphaned students in Syria. Responsibilities far beyond their years, and pressures that can make continuing their education feel like an impossible dream.

Yet Haider did not give up on his dream.

After years away from education, he found in Masarat an opportunity to return to learning through a flexible educational environment that respects his circumstances and gives him space to continue studying while carrying his responsibilities toward his family.

He expressed his gratitude in a simple message:

“Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible for me to return to my studies.”

Haider’s story reminds us that being deprived of education does not mean being deprived of ambition. Behind every student who has had to work instead of study, or leave school because of family circumstances, there is a dream that has not disappeared—it is simply waiting for a real opportunity.

At Masarat, we believe education should not be a privilege reserved for those whose circumstances allow them to access it. That is why we work to keep the door to learning open for students whose circumstances have closed many other doors, providing education, support, and guidance to help them find their way forward.

Your support makes these second chances possible.

You are not simply helping a student attend a lesson. You are giving them the chance to say:

“I can still learn, and I can still build my future.”

Thank you for standing with Haider and with every student who continues to hold on to their dream, no matter how difficult the journey becomes.
