The project is working towards rescuing poor kids and orphans from streets and child labour in Pandesara - industrial area of Surat, India. We admit these kids to our primary school - Pearl's Nursery Academy - running under UBNMET NGO. So far we have 150 students studying completely free of charge and we want to help more children.
UBNMET NGO and Peal's Nursery Academy work in Pandesara, the industrial area of Surat. Industrial environment is hazardous for small children: 1) Most of the families here have below-poverty-line income and are unable to send kids to school 2) Children are orphaned due to frequent industrial accidents 3) Children are forced into child labour 4) Children are abandoned in the insecure street and industrial environment
UBNMET NGO gets information about children under threat from local community, contacts those families and offers them an opportunity to send their kids to study in the NGO-run primary school where we can admit kids from Play Group up to 3rd grade. The NGO has been working since 2007 and we have managed to take up about 100 to 150 kids each year depending on our budget. But the school has a capacity to educate up to 200-250 kids. This is why we need your help.
We will be able to take 50 more children away from the detrimental environment of streets and industries and give them a chance to start their education. Poor kids will be empowered to pursue further education and eventually elevate themselves from the miserable conditions. Orphans will be given a chance for normal childhood and socialization.
