Dear Donors,

You would be much happy to know that your support has resulted in the desired outcome. Yes, the narikurava (gypsy) children who are from a conservative community are now going to schools regularly and are being admitted to boarding schools now. 130 children are being admitted of which 68 are girls and 62 are boys. They are now studying in good schools now, without the threat of their studies being stopped in the midst by their parents/community.

Listen to the words of Nathiya's mother: "My daughter is in 6th standard now. I am an illiterate and has not entered the school campus so far. I had gone to a school only now to admit my daughter Nathiya in the hostel. I had a secret fear that it may not be possible for my daughter to continue her studies once she finishes her primary schooling. But now New Life team helped us in getting her admitted to the boarding school where she can continue her studies till her school final. I also pray to God that she does not get married at an early age."

Raguvaran says, "Thank you New Life team and the donors for creating an interest in me towards studies. If I had not attended the coaching classes I would not be going to the boarding school and studying 9th standard. I would have roamed in the streets of our habitat just like my elder brothers in the community who have not studied and are selling beads in the streets when they become big. I want to go to a white collared job. Thank you once again for triggering my interest and getting me admitted to the boarding school."

Dear supporters, now with 130 children being admitted to boarding schools and with minimum number of children being left in the habitat, we are now compelled to stop the coaching class. However we are happy that our efforts have yielded a positive outcome and hope that this will prevent early marriages in this community in the coming days.

We thank you dear donors for helping us make this happen, for being with us morally and giving us continuous courage. Now with the project being stopped we request your goodselves to support our other projects that are being featured in Global Giving and the links for the same are given below:
