Light of Life Trust (LOLT) initiated Project Anando in 2005. Enlisted by GlobalGiving.org in November 2013 LOLT has been regularly receiving donations from generous donors believing in our cause and joining hands with us towards our efforts at meeting our vision.
The funds mobilized through GlobalGiving.org was for the beneficiaries of Project Anando at eight Centres in Jalna District (Marathwada Region), Maharashtra State, India. The months of March & April are very important in Indian students lives as they prepare for & appear for their annual examinations. All programmes & activities in Project Anando in this period are focused on providing academic inputs. The weekend empowerment workshop subjects dealt with topics like - preparation for exams, making study time tables and following the same, best ways to answer the examination papers. The teachers through the regular Student Friendly Supplementary Education Programme classes focused on revision of lessons requested by the students & on creating confidence amongst the children to achieve success in the annual examination.
In the year 2013 – 14 from Jalna District 103 students under the Anando programme appeared for their Std X exams which are held at the state level. 92 students passed the exam successfully making the overall passing percentage of Jalna District 92%. LOLT is proud to share that the best performer in these exams is a girl – Renuka from Mathpimpalgaon Centre who has scored 89.2% in these exams.
All the 406 children enrolled under Project Anando for the academic year 2013-14 in Jalna District continue to get the help as envisaged under the project to enable them to complete their secondary school education for 1 to 3 years, depending upon the class/grade in whcih they are currently studying.
